After complaints from students across the state, the education department on Tuesday announced that registration fees for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams will be accepted up to February.
Registration fees of around Rs 400-500 for the examinations are generally paid to the board by November, or attract a late fee. “We don't want the present cash crunch to affect the education of students. They must not miss out on the exam. They can continue to register by filling forms and pay the fees ahead of the exams,” said school education minister Vinod Tawde.
Some schools collect the expense at the beginning of the year.
