Medical aspirants will no longer be allowed repeated attempts at clearing the National Eligibility-cum -Entrance Test (NEET).

The UGC on Tuesday decided to cap the number of attempts a student can make to three, reports Hemali Chhapia. Also, the maximum age of candidates taking the medical and dental exam has been fixed at 25. The minimum age to crack NEET is 17.

The move is aimed at curbing cheats besides encouraging students to focus on fields where their passion lay.
