Even as several parents are worried about last-minute changes in the weightage given to NEET for undergraduate medical admissions, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research has made the assurance that it would be completely based on NEET scores.

“According to the notification released by the CBSE and Medical Council of India's regulation, admissions will be completely based on NEET scores for 2017 admissions,“ said director Pravin Shingare.

The Supreme Court last week said it would not be correct to decide the fate of students through a single entrance examination. “This, however, will not be applicable for the 2017 admissions as the notifications are out,“ Shingare said.
