Ahead of the board exams, the CBSE will start psychological counselling for students from Thursday. It will be available over a telephone helpline and a website till April 29.
A circular issued by the CBSE said psychological counselling services to help overcome exam-related stress would be made available through an outreach programme.
Tele-counselling will be offered by 90 principals and trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated schools in the country and abroad. Students in the country should dial 1800118004, a centralized toll free access number.
“While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the principals or counsellors in case of exam-related anxiety or stress,“ the circular said.
The helpline will operate from 8 am to 10 pm. Four special educators will counsel differently-abled students.
