After the arrest of four persons in the HSC Secretarial Practice question paper leak case, Vashi police have reached a dead end in the investigation into the trail of WhatsApp messages leading to the leak.

Cops claimed that beneficiaries of the leaks deleted the messages and some even uninstalled the mobile app. But police have sought the help of forensic experts to retrieve the data. Subsequently , 28 mobile phones, including some used by students, seized after tracking the message trail, have been sent to the forensic lab.

Police have been unable to arrest any of the accused involved in the leak of papers of HSC subjects like Marathi, Book-keeping and Accountancy , Maths and Physics.

Navi Mumbai cyber crime in-charge, inspector Ankush Khedkar said, “Police are investigating cases of HSC question paper leaks, while cyber crime officials are providing technical help.“ API Chetan Kakade said unless they find even a slightest link to the paper leak, we cannot summon any non-teaching staff to the HSC board office in Vashi even for an inquiry .

Exam clash hits many colleges

With the ATKT exam of FYBCom student clashing with the HSC economics paper, many colleges are finding it difficult to accommodate both set of students in their classrooms. A college principal said he was making use of the computer laboratory too, to accommodate students as timings for both exams were the same. This is the first year that a common time-table was issued by the university even for the first-year exams.
